Bogáncs Zalaegerszegi Animal Protection Association and Shelter is a public-benefit organization based in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary, operating since 1999. Its main areas of work are animal welfare and environmental protection. The association runs a shelter that provides safety and care for abandoned, surrendered, and mistreated dogs while they wait for permanent homes. Over the years, it reports finding new homes for thousands of animals.
The shelter publishes profiles of dogs available for adoption, including urgent placements, and offers guidance to prospective adopters on responsible ownership and the adoption process. Visitors can meet the animals during set opening hours, and dog walking is available when weather conditions allow. The organization also shares practical information about lost or found animals, animal cruelty, and local veterinary services.
People can support Bogáncs through financial or in-kind donations, Hungary’s personal income tax designation, volunteering, dog walking, or temporary fostering. The association welcomes prospective adopters and supporters at its Zalaegerszeg shelter and provides updates through its news and social media channels.
