BOJUKA RYU

Bojuka Ryu is a martial arts school serving children and adults on California’s Monterey Peninsula. Established in Marina in 1970, the school has more than 55 years of experience helping students explore martial arts and progress at their own pace. Its programs include Bojuka classes, judo, fitness training, women’s judo through Botan Joshi Judo Kai, and private instruction. Training can support a range of goals, including self-protection, physical fitness, competition, and personal development.

Bojuka Ryu combines practical techniques for real-life situations with instruction that can be adapted for competition rules. Conditioning and mental fitness are also important parts of its approach. The school aims to foster self-discipline, respect, honor, patience, and service to the community. Children and teens can develop coordination, athleticism, and physical fitness while learning positive character traits. The dojo is located at 291 Carmel Avenue in Marina, where visitors are welcome to observe a class or contact the school with inquiries.
