Bolidozor is a volunteer-run network of automatic radio reception stations that observes meteors entering Earth’s atmosphere. Its stations, operated mainly by amateur astronomers and scientists in their free time, detect radio waves scattered by ionized gas around a meteor’s path. Signals are recorded and gathered on storage servers, creating data that is freely available alongside the network’s hardware documentation and software. Bolidozor’s primary goal is to determine bolide trajectories and estimate possible impact points.

The project provides several tools for exploring detections. Freya offers real-time visual and audio presentations of signals, while a live map shows station locations and meteor detections. Multicounts displays recent hourly detection totals, and Multibolid matches events recorded by multiple stations. Bolidozor also contributes data to the RMOB initiative and offers a JS9-based browser for examining unprocessed data.

Bolidozor welcomes scientists, amateur astronomers, and other interested contributors. People can participate by operating a compatible station, helping process data, or joining the mailing list. The team can discuss station hardware and cooperation options with prospective operators.
