The János Bolyai Mathematical Society is a Hungarian public-benefit association dedicated to the advancement of mathematics. Founded in 1891 by prominent mathematicians and physicists, it has supported mathematical scholarship and education for more than 120 years. The Society serves researchers, teachers, students, and anyone interested in mathematics through a broad programme of publications, competitions, events, and educational initiatives.

The Society also organises or supports mathematics competitions for students, including the Arany Dániel, Kürschák József, Schweitzer Miklós, and Varga Tamás contests, as well as mathematical olympiad activities. Professional development and community events include the Rátz László travelling conference, specialist conferences, and lectures. The Society recognises achievement through its own awards and supports other professional distinctions. It also works with research and education partners to develop practical mathematics teaching materials and lesson plans for secondary-school teachers.
