Bomberos Voluntarios

The Benemérito Cuerpo Voluntario de Bomberos de Guatemala is a volunteer and permanent firefighting institution dedicated to protecting lives and serving communities across Guatemala. Its national network includes 129 operating companies and 10 operating substations, supported by more than 4,000 volunteer and permanent members. The organization responds to approximately 500 emergencies each day; people can report an emergency by calling 122.

Alongside emergency response, the institution provides public guidance on first aid, disaster preparedness, and home safety, helping people understand how to act before professional assistance arrives and how to reduce everyday risks. Its Department of Safety and Prevention also offers customized training programs for businesses, educational institutions, and other organizations seeking to strengthen their safety procedures and emergency response capabilities.

The organization publishes official documents, reports, and other public information to support transparency and public access. It also invites people to join as volunteer firefighters and contribute to community protection. Based in Guatemala City, the institution can be contacted for administration and training inquiries by email or telephone.
