Bom Jesus

The Confraria do Bom Jesus do Monte is the organisation behind the Bom Jesus do Monte sanctuary, an iconic religious and cultural landmark in Braga, Portugal, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its website introduces the sanctuary’s history, architecture and setting, and helps visitors explore its principal features, including the monumental stairways, basilica, historic funicular, park and gardens. Visitors can find practical information about opening hours, prices, hotels, guided tours and events, as well as access a virtual visit.

The Confraria also shares information about the site’s heritage and ongoing work to care for and improve it. Its projects include restoration and requalification initiatives, while its exhibitions, documentary resources and Centre of Memories present different aspects of Bom Jesus through time. News and publications keep the public informed about cultural activities, conservation and religious life at the sanctuary. Through these services and resources, the Confraria supports worship, learning and visitation, helping people engage with Bom Jesus do Monte as a place of spiritual significance and a valued part of Portugal’s cultural heritage.
