Bonecollector Taxidermy is a family-owned business in Owings, Maryland, founded by Thad Bowman to preserve hunting memories as distinctive wildlife art. Drawing on a lifelong connection to the outdoors, formal taxidermy training, competition experience, and a commitment to continually improving his craft, Bowman emphasizes careful work, fair treatment, and quality at reasonable prices. The business has offered a broad range of services, including shoulder, half-life-size, and life-size mounts; European skull mounts with optional hydro-dipping and pedestal choices; waterfowl and upland bird mounts; and animal rugs.
Its listed work includes deer, bear, elk, moose, turkey, ducks, geese, and other species. Panels and habitats may cost extra, and prices vary by species and size. Bonecollector Taxidermy does not mount fish.
The website advises customers on handling birds for preservation and notes federal tagging requirements for migratory birds. As of February 2026, the business has paused accepting new mounts for the foreseeable future while working through its existing backlog; previously discussed projects remain accepted
