About The National Bonsai Foundation
The National Bonsai Foundation is dedicated to preserving the art of bonsai and penjing while fostering intercultural friendship and understanding. Established in 1982, this nonprofit organization works in collaboration with the U. S.
National Arboretum to provide financial, programmatic, and curatorial support for the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum. Located on the grounds of the Arboretum in Washington, DC, the Museum showcases masterpiece displays and offers educational programs to promote the art of bonsai and penjing to visitors. The Foundation also promotes the appreciation of viewing stones.
