The Singapore Book Council is an organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting literary arts in Singapore. Guided by its purpose to “Power Our Words,” it connects readers, writers, publishers and communities through programmes, events and resources. Its activities include the Singapore Writers Festival, the Asian Festival of Children’s Content and Translation Day Singapore, alongside writers’ labs, mentorships, residencies and translation initiatives.

The Council also offers learning and outreach programmes for schools and preschool audiences, including SBC CAMPUS, Young Writers Lab and read-along books. Its awards recognise literary achievement across genres and communities, with honours such as the Singapore Literature Prize, Anugerah Persuratan, the S. E.

A. Write Award, the Hedwig Anuar Children’s Book Award and the Golden Point Award. For the wider literary community, the Council provides information about Singapore bookstores, literary arts resources, international festivals and awards, and new Singapore literature.
