Premade Cover Index is an online directory that brings premade book covers from multiple independent cover shops into one searchable place. It helps authors browse a broad selection without visiting each retailer separately, with search tools for exploring listings by source, genre, and other cover details. The index reports more than 131,000 covers and includes shops such as BookCovers.com, BookCoverZone, Design Dusk, GoOnWrite, and The Book Cover Designer.

Its catalog spans fiction and nonfiction categories, including mystery, thriller and suspense, romance, fantasy, literary fiction, young adult, horror, science fiction, historical fiction, and many others. Cover listings show information such as the title, category, price, and source, and provide links to view the design on the shop offering it. Prices displayed in the directory vary across listings, with examples ranging from free to more than $100. Premade Cover Index is therefore a discovery and comparison resource: it organizes available designs from participating shops, while purchases and cover details are handled by those individual providers.
