BOOM

BOOM is a street dance school and community serving the Sendai, Nagamachi, Tagajo, and Shichigahama areas of Miyagi, Japan. It welcomes children, adults, and beginners, with students ranging from elementary-school age to their 60s. Classes are held at several local studios and community venues, giving students options across the four areas.

The school offers styles including HIPHOP, street jazz, HOUSE, girls’ HIPHOP, freestyle, WAACK, and NEW JACK SWING. Beginner-focused and level-based classes help newcomers learn at a comfortable pace, while instructors provide attentive guidance and emphasize rhythm, movement fundamentals, and personal expression. BOOM has 11 instructors, including active dancers with competition and stage experience.

Students can choose regular monthly lessons, a pass for unlimited classes, or ticket-based attendance that allows adults to participate as little as once a month. A yearly showcase offers students the chance to perform, with participation optional. Trial lessons are free, and trial visitors who enroll within two weeks can avoid the admission fee.
