Booty Therapy is a dance and personal-development practice founded by artist, activist, director, choreographer, and author Maïmouna Coulibaly. Drawing on her experience since 1996, Coulibaly created an approach that combines movement, music, theatre, and emotional expression to help participants build confidence, release tension, and connect with others. Rooted in Afro-diasporic dance traditions, including Ndombolo, Ragga Dancehall, and West African dances, Booty Therapy also draws on global styles such as coupé-décalé, afrobeat, soca, kuduro, baile funk, perreo, amapiano, shatta, and bouyon.
Its sessions are presented as welcoming, joyful spaces that celebrate all bodies, identities, and personal stories. The brand offers classes in Berlin, Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Montpellier, and Lausanne, as well as workshops, camps, private events, hen-party experiences, and team-building activities. It also provides instructor training and performances, including the Hot Pussy Show.
Through collective movement and creative expression, Booty Therapy aims to turn dance into an experience of empowerment and shared energy
