BOPA

The British Oncology Pharmacy Association (BOPA) is a professional organisation dedicated to promoting excellence in pharmaceutical care for people with cancer. It supports pharmacy professionals and other healthcare practitioners through education, communication, research and innovation, with resources designed to strengthen knowledge and practice across the UK.

BOPA offers courses and eLearning, including a bespoke continuing professional development course in Health Technology Assessment, endorsed by Health Technology Assessment International. Its digital Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Verification Passport provides a structured competency training programme, while its resource library, cancer hub, education and training standards, and drug monographs support professional learning and clinical practice. Developed with the Irish Oncology Nursing Group, the monographs address medicines used to manage immune-related adverse events.

The association also provides forums, specialist interest and advisory groups, newsletters, podcasts and networking opportunities. Members can access professional resources and participate in BOPA activities. BOPA hosts an annual conference and collaborates on international events, including the planned 2028 joint conference with the International Society of Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners.
