Annan Borders Shotokan Karate Club

Borders Shotokan is a karate club based in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, serving people of all ages and abilities across South West Scotland. The club offers both traditional karate and sport karate following Olympic and World Karate Federation (WKF) approaches, combining traditional practice with contemporary competition training. Its classes include adult karate, junior sessions and Wee Warrior classes, with opportunities to train at a full-time dojo in Annan. Prospective students can book a free trial lesson.

Borders Shotokan presents high-quality instruction as central to its teaching and, through links with JKS Scotland, gives instructors and students access to courses with internationally recognised Japanese karate instructors. The club also supports participation in regional and national competitions. Its competitors have achieved World, European, Commonwealth, British and Scottish all-styles WKF titles, while junior students have won kata and kumite events in Scotland and England. Training aims to develop karate skills alongside fitness, self-defence, respect and resilience.
