Bosom Buddies of AZ

Bosom Buddies of Arizona is a non-profit organization that has been providing support to women and men diagnosed with breast cancer and their families since 1982. Founded by five women in the advertising and communications industry in Phoenix, Bosom Buddies was born out of a desire to help others facing the same diagnosis. Initially, the organization set up a telephone information line, with volunteers who were breast cancer survivors answering calls.

As awareness of Bosom Buddies grew, monthly support group meetings were established, offering a safe space for individuals to share their experiences. These sessions include educational programs led by breast cancer professionals, as well as group discussions. Recognizing the need for public advocacy, Bosom Buddies of Arizona became a member of the National Breast Cancer Coalition and actively participates in advocacy efforts on the state and national level.

The organization's mission is to increase awareness of breast cancer through prevention, early detection, and support, utilizing personal contacts, a hotline, support groups, social media, and educational materials. Led by dedicated individuals like Diane Swanson, President, and Trudie Camponovo Barrow, Vice President, Bosom Buddies of Arizona is committed to making a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer
