El Bosque de las Nuwas is a unique initiative managed entirely by the women of the native Shampuyacu community in Peru. Guided by a representative Working Committee, this project emerged as a response to the urgent need for environmental preservation after significant deforestation in their region. Upholding their cultural heritage and ancestral knowledge, the women have dedicated themselves to protecting and revitalizing the 9 hectares of forest entrusted to them.

The Bosque de las Nuwas offers an array of authentic products and services, promoting sustainable tourism centered around community engagement. Visitors can explore the rich biodiversity of the area while enjoying custom-made infusions and artisanal crafts produced by the local Awajún women. These infusions not only showcase traditional herbal knowledge but also support the conservation of local flora.
