Bossy Games Collective is the creator of Captains and Curses, a pirate-themed sandbox strategy game that combines deck-building, pickup and delivery, gambling, and set collection. Designed for play across land and sea, the game invites players to pursue riches, power, and notoriety in a reimagined Caribbean setting. Players take on the legacy and attributes of pirate captains, draft crews, and compete to earn the most Notoriety Points. They can plunder ships, duel or rob other players, mine for gold, gamble at a tavern, and face monsters inspired by Caribbean folklore.
Captains and Curses features cards for actions at sea and on the island, including decks connected to locations such as the Capital Building, Church, Mine, Plantation, and Voodoo Hut. Its game board depicts a stylized island surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, with map art created by tattoo artist Mathew Crimson and color work by artist Jonathan Brice Lyman.
