ABCD

Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) is a nonprofit serving people in need across Greater Boston. Its mission is to provide practical tools and resources that help individuals and families move from poverty toward stability and success, while addressing both the effects and underlying causes of poverty. ABCD offers a broad range of programs and services spanning career development, children’s education, food access, elder services, energy assistance, financial health, housing, immigration, and youth support.

Community members can find help with essentials such as groceries, commuting costs, and fuel, as well as opportunities to learn English and pursue free training for early childhood education careers. The organization also provides Head Start and other children’s services, family and neighborhood support, housing and homelessness prevention, and career assistance through its employment services. ABCD serves Boston and surrounding communities, including Malden, Medford, Everett, and nearby towns, through a network of neighborhood centers and program locations
