About Boston Aquarium Society
The Boston Aquarium Society, established in 1916, stands as one of the oldest and most respected aquarium hobbyist clubs in the United States. Committed to fostering knowledge and enthusiasm within the aquarium hobby, the Society offers a vibrant community for both novice and experienced aquarists. Members engage in a variety of enriching activities, including monthly bowl shows, grow-out contests, and a dedicated Breeding Initiative that encourages long-term involvement and sharing of expertise.
As an active member of both the Northeast Council of Aquarium Societies (NEC) and the Federation of American Aquarium Societies (FAAS), the Boston Aquarium Society provides a platform for collaboration, education, and camaraderie among enthusiasts. The Society also hosts meetings and events that highlight local fish stores and aquatic life, alongside competitions and initiatives to promote best practices in fish breeding and care. Whether you’re looking to deepen your knowledge or connect with fellow hobbyists, the Boston Aquarium Society is a thriving hub for all things aquatic.
