The Boston Housing Authority (BHA) is a leading provider of public housing and affordable housing solutions in and around Boston. With a commitment to fostering sustainable communities, BHA offers a range of programs and services to ensure quality affordable housing for low and moderate-income families and individuals. BHA owns and oversees approximately 10,000 rental units of public housing in Boston, including housing for seniors, residents with disabilities, and low-income families.
In addition, BHA administers over 14,979 rental assistance vouchers, known as Tenant-Based Section 8 vouchers, which allow families to rent in the private market with a subsidy applied to their rent. BHA's mission is to bring stability, opportunity, and peace of mind to thousands of residents by providing affordable housing options.
