Bottega dell'arte

La Bottega dell’Arte is a volunteer-led nonprofit association founded in 2010 to support people with disabilities. Formally established as a voluntary organization in 2013, it became an ONLUS in December 2014. Based in Giarre, Italy, the association brings together specialists in disability support, teachers, trained operators, and volunteers with skills in areas such as graphic design, painting, and photography. These volunteers act as instructors, helping participants develop practical abilities in a welcoming, shared learning environment.

The association designs activities around each person’s needs, aiming to recognize and strengthen individual skills and support greater autonomy. Its workshops and projects include creative and educational activities; one multidisciplinary initiative, “Abilità&autonomia,” combines piano lessons, painting, and computer literacy. Parents also contribute to some activities, encouraging shared experiences and active participation. La Bottega dell’Arte organizes conferences and events, and offers solidarity favors as part of its initiatives. It is affiliated with the University of Catania for curricular internships, connecting its work with student training and professional development.
