BottleneckPC started with a simple frustration: every "bottleneck calculator" online spits out a single, fake-precise percentage that no real benchmark could ever back up. Hardware does not work that way. The same CPU and GPU pairing behaves differently in a competitive shooter than in a ray-traced single-player game, and differently again at 1080p versus 4K.
So we built the tool we wanted. BottleneckPC's calculator reports an honest performance range instead of a made-up number, and it weights the result by resolution and game genre. It includes a DLSS/FSR toggle, per-game FPS estimates for dozens of popular titles, and upgrade suggestions ranked by cost per frame so you can see where your money actually buys frames.
Around the calculator sits a full set of free tools: a PC build generator with live prices, a PSU wattage calculator that accounts for real transient power spikes, a RAM advisor, a case finder, and a monitor match tool. Our buying guides and blog track the 2026 hardware market - the GPU shortage, the memory price crisis, and what is actually worth buying right now.
The mission is straightforward: give PC builders honest, useful answers, keep the data current, and never pretend a range is a guarantee.
