About Boxd.sh
Its platform creates persistent, hardware-isolated Linux virtual machines that can be configured once, then started, forked, paused, resumed, or restored as needed. Machines retain files, installed tools, running processes, and shell state between sessions, and do not incur compute charges while asleep.
Teams can use boxd for development workspaces, pull-request preview environments, coding-agent runtimes, personal assistants, secure sandboxes, agentic SaaS, reproducible reinforcement-learning environments, and parallel agent workflows. Each machine is a KVM virtual machine with its own Linux kernel, root access, and support for tools such as Docker and Postgres. Standard machines include 2 vCPUs, 8 GB of RAM, and 100 GB of disk.
boxd offers a CLI, API, and CI integration for managing machines, forks, snapshots, and checkpoints. Its features also include organization-wide integrations with GitHub, Linear, and Slack, HTTPS subdomains, custom domains, and shared environment variables and secrets. Organizations can run the platform on their own hardware, and usage is billed based on resources consumed.
