The Bulgarian Association of Pathology (BAP), established on July 27, 2009, in Sofia, serves as a pivotal organization for professionals in the pathology sector, including pathologists, lab technicians, and preparators. With a mission to transform the governance model and enhance the legislative foundation surrounding clinical pathology in Bulgaria, BAP actively advocates for improved standards, regulation, and funding of pathology services such as cytology, biopsy, immunohistochemistry, molecular pathology, and autopsy.
BAP collaborates closely with the Bulgarian Society of Pathology and other health organizations, working to align national clinical pathology standards with those of the European Union and World Health Organization. As a full member of the European Association of Pathology, BAP has initiated the first European School of Pathology (EScoP) in Bulgaria, promoting continuous medical education to enhance the skills of its members. The organization is committed to raising the professional standards and living conditions of those working within the pathology field, consistently striving for excellence in healthcare delivery.
