About BANGLADESH PROTIBANDHI KALLYAN SOMITY
BANGLADESH PROTIBANDHI KALLYAN SOMITY (BPKS) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, non-political voluntary organization dedicated to serving all types of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Bangladesh. Established in 1985, BPKS is a fundamental organization of disabled people, fully governed and led by themselves. Their mission is to promote the capacities and rights of disabled people, organizations, and policies while enabling them to become effective and equal citizens.
BPKS works towards creating a non-discriminatory society where disabled individuals can live with freedom, dignity, and contribute equally to their own and universal development. They strive to safeguard the principles of disabled people's rights, increase their access to opportunities and participation, and establish and strengthen disabled people's organizations. BPKS welcomes supporters and donors to visit, consult, and collaborate with them to achieve the goals set forth by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Sustainable Development.
