BPMV Mannheim

BPMV-Mannheim e.V., the Badisch-Pfälzische Modellflugsportverein Mannheim, is a model aviation club serving enthusiasts in Mannheim and the surrounding region. With more than 100 members, the club welcomes people interested in a range of disciplines, including gliders, powered aircraft, radio-controlled parachuting, slow and park flyers, helicopters, experimental models, and indoor flying. Its indoor-flying activities also attract visitors from outside the club.

BPMV is Mannheim’s only model flying club with its own flying site, located near Straßenheim, where electric-powered flight is the main focus. The club also has a clubhouse, the Fliegerklause, at the Neuostheim gliding site, which hosts activities throughout the year. For newcomers, BPMV offers flight training using club-owned model aircraft and a teacher-student system, generally on Wednesdays and weekends by prior arrangement. The club supports young people and model-building through youth activities and construction courses, and organizes events and competitions, including indoor-flying days and the Rhein-Neckar Cup. Through its varied programs, BPMV provides opportunities to learn, fly, build, and connect with fellow model aviation enthusiasts.
