The Blindness Prevention Rotary Action Group (BPRAG) brings together Rotarians and friends of Rotary worldwide to prevent avoidable blindness and promote better eye health. Formerly known as the Rotarian Action Group for Blindness Prevention, it grew from earlier Rotary initiatives focused on avoidable blindness and eye care. BPRAG welcomes people who want to contribute to sight-saving work and improve access to vision services.
The group raises awareness of preventable vision loss and supports sustainable, community-driven eye care programs. Its activities include promoting screenings, surgeries, and treatments, especially for underserved communities, and collaborating with Rotary clubs, nongovernmental organizations, and global health partners. BPRAG also seeks to train and equip local health professionals, strengthen local capacity, and advocate for policies and funding that expand access to eye care.
The organization frames sight-saving services as a way to support dignity, education, and livelihoods. Through its website, it shares resources, global grant information, projects, activities, and opportunities to support its mission.
