Braef

Braef is a coaching, guidance and dog-training practice founded by Sandra Aerns, who has worked independently since 2016. Based at Het Kwispelhonk, an indoor training and coaching location in Dordrecht, Braef brings people and dogs together to support learning, wellbeing and personal development. Sandra works with her own dogs, who are part of the practice’s coaching and guidance activities.

Services include individual coaching, support for people who are afraid of dogs, and ambulant assistance for clients with a WMO or WLZ care authorization. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is among the approaches used. Braef also provides individual dog training, including work with reactive dogs that find their surroundings challenging. Through the Kwispelschool, launched in Dordrecht in 2024, owners and dogs can receive individual guidance or train in small groups, with a focus on concept-based training, coordination and balance.

Sandra also coaches assistance-dog teams for Dutch Assistance Dogs and works with the Kwispelkrachtig partnership on coaching, resilience programmes and training buddy dogs for people with support needs.
