Brandon Folk, Music & Art Society organizes the Brandon Folk, Music & Art Festival, a three-day celebration of music and arts held in Brandon, Manitoba. The festival brings together performers from Manitoba and across Canada, as well as international artists, with programming that spans folk and other musical styles. Its 2014 edition marked the event’s 30th annual festival and featured artists including Martin Sexton, Cold Specks, Ben Caplan & the Casual Smokers, isKwé, Mariachi Ghost, and the DoneFors.
Festival offerings include live performances, camping options, ticket packages for individuals, students, seniors, and families, and opportunities to volunteer. The Society also supports emerging artists through an Emerging Artist Program and related showcases. Beyond the festival, it presents fundraising events such as a Scotch tasting featuring samples, live music, and dinner.
Proceeds support the Society’s programming and the ongoing development of the Strand Community Performance and Art Centre. Through its festival, artist initiatives, and community events, the organization provides opportunities to experience live music and art while supporting local cultural programming
