Bratniak

Fundacja Studentów i Absolwentów Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego „Bratniak” is a Kraków-based foundation supporting the social and living conditions of the Jagiellonian University academic community. Its stated mission also includes backing scientific, cultural and artistic initiatives connected with that community. The foundation seeks to improve student life while keeping accommodation costs as low as possible.

Its activities include operating student residences and student hotels, and providing grants and financial assistance. It also runs the UJ “Żaczuś” nursery, which welcomes children from six months of age. Students can access services through the foundation’s student network, clubs and employment and housing placement offices. The foundation is also involved in organising Juwenalia Krakoskie, a major student festival in Kraków, alongside other events that bring students and former residents together.

Based at Piastowska Street in Kraków, “Bratniak” works with the university community on practical support, accommodation and cultural activities. Its programmes combine everyday services with opportunities for academic, social and artistic engagement.
