About Brattleboro Museum & Art Center
The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center (BMAC) is a non-collecting contemporary art museum located in Brattleboro, VT. As an anchor of southern Vermont's vibrant cultural scene, BMAC is dedicated to showcasing the art of our time and bringing notable artists and their work to the region. With 15-20 exhibitions annually, BMAC presents a diverse range of contemporary art, complemented by 60-70 public programs and extensive educational offerings in partnership with local schools and service organizations.
Their mission is to illuminate art and ideas in ways that inspire, inform, and connect people from all walks of life. BMAC's six galleries host rotating exhibitions every 3-4 months, borrowing artwork from collectors, galleries, and artists themselves. In addition to exhibitions, BMAC offers a wide array of cultural and educational events, from artist talks and film screenings to workshops and performances.
They also have rich education programs serving children of all ages, including collaborations with local Head Start classrooms and the administration of the prestigious Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for Vermont. BMAC is primarily funded through memberships and charitable donations, with major support provided by their members
