Utebarnehage provides nature-based experiences for kindergartens in Tromsø, offering planned outdoor days led by early childhood teacher Vibeke Brattli. With more than 25 years of experience in outdoor kindergarten settings, and qualifications as a DNT summer trip leader, Vibeke combines outdoor learning with activities suited to the season. Children can take part in year-round days of play and learning outdoors, including campfire activities, hiking, birdwatching, harvesting, and seasonal celebrations.

Winter options include ski practice, snowshoeing, sledding, ice fishing, and other snow activities. The programme also introduces children to Sámi culture through activities such as learning Sámi words and trying lasso throwing. Utebarnehage provides transport in a nine-seat vehicle fitted with child safety seats; children travel with Vibeke and a staff member from their kindergarten.
