About Braunschweig Lions
The Braunschweig Lions are an American football team from Braunschweig, Germany, competing in the German Football League. Known as the New Yorker Lions from 2011 to 2025, the team has played continuously in the GFL since 1994. With 12 German Bowl titles, it holds the record for national championships, and its six Eurobowl victories mark major international success. From the 2026 season, the first team is once again organized by the club, while other amateur and youth activities are part of 1. FFC Braunschweig e.V.
The wider Lions family includes American football teams for junior players and adults, women’s football, several flag football programs, and cheerleading and dance groups. The organization also offers ways for supporters to follow the team through news, game schedules, roster information, videos, and livestreams. Fans can purchase tickets for home games at Eintracht-Stadion in Braunschweig and shop for Lions merchandise, including gift vouchers. Recruiting information invites prospective players to become part of the team, while the club’s website also provides partner and press resources.
