About BRAVE Girls
BRAVE is a brand that aims to inspire and empower girl leaders across the African continent. They support girl-led initiatives and build a strong network of women and girl leaders. By using the challenge of travel and adventure in wild places, BRAVE creates opportunities for girls and works with those who can provide the necessary resources, knowledge, experience, and safety for girls to lead.
BRAVE's impactful journey started in 2011 when a group of 10-year-old girls founded BRAVE Rock Girl at Red River Primary School, with the goal of making their school and community safer. Since then, BRAVE has reached over 500 girls through workshops, holiday camps, and weekend programs. They have also created radio programming advocating for safer communities for girls.
BRAVE's efforts have led to the construction of a brand new school for 800 students and the empowerment and graduation of the first cohort of BRAVE girls.
