About Break The Fake Movement
Break the Fake Movement is a local civic society organization (CSO) dedicated to promoting media and information literacy (MIL) while debunking disinformation. As an Independent Alliance of Young Professionals, our mission is to equip every Filipino with essential MIL knowledge and skills, foster critical thinking, debunk fake news, and encourage positive participation to strengthen our democratic institutions. We take pride in our accountability and ensure that all our campaigns are independent of any political groups.
Our programs aim to engage the youth in the fight against fake news and disinformation by leveraging technology and unifying voices with the same advocacy. From the Fact-Checking Academy to the ASEAN Digital Literacy Programme 2022-23, Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week, and the Media Civics Lab, we offer various platforms to educate and empower individuals.
