Breathe Better Myofunctional Therapy is an Olympia, Washington practice led by Annie Denning, a registered dental hygienist, qualified orofacial myologist, and licensed massage therapist. The practice supports children aged six and older and adults experiencing muscle dysfunction of the mouth and face associated with mouth breathing, tongue tie, or oral habits such as thumb sucking. Online sessions are also available.
Its primary service is individualized orofacial myofunctional therapy, using tailored exercises to retrain the muscles of the face, mouth, and tongue. Treatment focuses on healthy nasal breathing, lip seal, and tongue posture during rest, speaking, chewing, and swallowing. Specialized head, neck, and intraoral massage is also offered to address tension and support oral function.
The practice aims to protect the airway and promote well-being, with potential goals including improved sleep, swallowing, and oral health; support for children’s oral development; and relief from jaw, head, and neck discomfort. Annie collaborates with other providers and welcomes referrals from professionals and patients seeking care.
