Breckwoldt’s Feinkost is a family-run delicatessen in Hamburg-Blankenese, specialising in fish and seafood, Italian cheeses and carefully selected wines. Its roots reach back to 1761, and the fish shop was established on Elbchaussee in 1904. Since 2013, fish specialists Elke and Georgios Karanikolas have continued its tradition, combining longstanding expertise with an evolving selection.
The shop offers seasonal fresh fish and seafood, including salmon, crab and caviar, alongside freshly prepared salads and other delicacies. Its range also includes Italian cheeses and cured meats, handmade pasta, spices, desserts and wines from Germany and Greece. A distinctive feature is its traditional smoking craft: fish are smoked over an open wood fire in an Altona-style oven, producing specialties such as smoked salmon, mackerel, eel and halibut.
Breckwoldt’s also prepares seasonal dishes, including sea bass ceviche, and can create tailored food offerings for holidays, family celebrations and business events. The business emphasises quality, sustainability, regional connections and personal customer service, serving local residents and visitors from its Elbchaussee shop.
