About BREEF
BREEF is a Bahamian non-profit, non-governmental organization that plays a crucial role in marine ecosystem conservation and education, not just in The Bahamas but around the world. With a comprehensive approach, BREEF focuses on various aspects such as education, outreach, research, and policy to protect and restore the marine environment. Through grassroots programs, BREEF empowers both Bahamians and visitors to become stewards of the environment, providing on-the-ground instruction, advocating for strong policy, and actively restoring reef habitats.
Founded in 1993 by Sir Nicholas Nuttall, BREEF has emerged as a leader in educating the community about the importance of marine resources. Their vision is to create a Bahamas where everyone recognizes the value of the sea and takes action to ensure a healthy marine environment. With their mission to promote conservation, BREEF's efforts have a lasting impact on all stakeholders, contributing to a sustainable future.
To support their cause, you can donate to BREEF and get involved as a volunteer. By doing so, you are safeguarding our greatest natural resource and helping BREEF continue their vital work. Together, we can make a difference in protecting our oceans and preserving our way of life
