The Bridge Association is a not-for-profit organisation based in Antrim, dedicated to supporting adults aged 18 and over with learning disabilities. Its central purpose is to help trainees develop their potential, confidence, self-help abilities, and independent living skills in a welcoming, inclusive setting. The organisation provides accredited vocational courses tailored to each traineeβs abilities and needs, with practical training in catering, horticulture and propagation, and retail. Courses in personal development, information technology, numeracy, and literacy further support learning and everyday life.
Alongside training, the Bridge Association works to strengthen connections and wellbeing across the wider Antrim community through local initiatives, events, practical support, and partnerships. Its community cafΓ©, Hug a Mug, and the Quirky Emporium, a retail space featuring handcrafted goods and upcycled treasures, offer opportunities for participation and connection. The organisation also describes its work as empowering individuals and families and supporting vulnerable groups. From 1988 to 2005, it received national recognition as a UK model of excellence for its work with people with learning disabilities.
