About BridgeReportCard
Bridge Report Card makes information from the Federal Highway Administration’s National Bridge Inventory easier to explore. The site presents the 2025 inventory as browsable pages covering 624,169 highway bridges across the United States, including 41,677 rated poor, 309,717 rated fair, and 272,775 rated good. Visitors can browse bridge conditions by state and county, find individual bridges using a road, waterway, town, county, or structure number, and review each bridge’s condition class and component ratings.
The site also highlights states with high shares of poor-rated bridges and lists heavily traveled bridges with poor ratings. Data downloads, explanations of how ratings work, inspection information, and background on the meaning of “poor” are available to help users understand the records. The data comes from FHWA’s annual inventory, compiled from state transportation department inspection reports.
Bridge Report Card republishes these federal records and is not affiliated with a government agency. A poor rating indicates a need for repair or monitoring; it does not by itself mean a bridge is unsafe
