Red Genie Games is an independent game studio creating original, thematic games and other creative collaborations. Its first release, The Brigade, is a board game set in Tinderbox, a city engulfed in a firestorm after a mysterious blaze appears above the Pyromancers University. Players lead rival firehouses, protect the city’s residents and compete to earn their loyalty through heroic firefighting, with the goal of becoming Fire Chief.
The game features more than 400 components, five styles of play and seven language options, and includes artwork by Nunoh. Red Genie Games also offers a free print-and-play version of The Brigade for players who want to try it at home, alongside rulebooks and game media. The brand’s website shares development updates, playtesting news, blog posts and the fictional Tinderbox Times, with an email newsletter for subscribers.
The Brigade was promoted through Kickstarter and events such as PAX AUS, and the site notes that only a limited number of copies remain
