About Bright Light Veterinary Eye Care
Bright Light Veterinary Eye Care is an independently owned, proudly Canadian veterinary ophthalmology practice founded in 2021 by Dr. Amber Labelle, a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist based in Ottawa, Ontario. The practice provides accessible, expert, and compassionate eye care for animals, working in partnership with each patient’s primary care veterinarian. Patients must be referred by their veterinarian; the practice does not schedule appointments directly with clients.
Dr. Labelle examines patients, diagnoses eye conditions, explains findings, and recommends treatment, then shares relevant information with the referring veterinarian. Services include specialty eye examinations for cats, dogs, exotic animals, and other species; OFA eye exams for breeders; teleconsultations for veterinarians; and pre-purchase eye exams for horses. Equine and large-animal care is provided on farms and at referral hospitals, while small-animal appointments take place at City View Animal Hospital in Nepean.
Dr. Labelle brings experience in equine practice, veterinary ophthalmology, academia, private practice, and industry.
