Brightside Speech Therapy

Brightside Speech Therapy is an Adelaide practice providing individualised speech therapy for children and young people up to 18 years old. Led by speech pathologist Jamie Freeman, the practice supports each child’s communication development through tailored, strengths-focused care. Services include formal speech and language assessments, as well as informal, child-led discussions to identify communication needs and goals.

Therapy may address articulation and speech clarity, expressive and receptive language, social connection, and wellbeing. Brightside takes a neuroaffirming approach, celebrating neurodiversity rather than teaching neurotypical social skills or masking. Children are encouraged to help shape the support they receive and build understanding of their own communication profiles. The practice also offers augmentative and alternative communication options, including picture cards, visuals, sign language, and trials of speech-generating devices or other multimodal supports.

Appointments are available at Brightside’s Wayville office, at a child’s school, kindergarten or childcare, and via telehealth. This flexible delivery aims to make support accessible to families across a range of circumstances.
