Brisbane Judo Club provides a safe, professional space in Holland Park, Queensland, for people to practise judo and develop at their own level. Established by Sensei Paul Nelson, the club welcomes beginners, children, adult players, senior and masters judoka, as well as experienced practitioners interested in dan-grade judo and kata. Classes are structured around judo’s core principles and adapted to participants’ experience and goals.
The club offers beginner classes, junior judo for children aged 5–13, and classes for adults aged 15 and over. Training focuses on technique, fitness, competition performance and enjoyment. Newcomers can contact the club to arrange a free trial class. Members can also take part in club gradings to demonstrate their knowledge and gain recognition for new skills, or test themselves in competition.
Brisbane Judo Club is also an agent for Kusakura, a Japanese manufacturer of judo suits. Located at Dojo 105 Seville Road, Holland Park, the club shares information about judo’s history and values and invites prospective players to find a class and begin training.
