About BRISMES
BRISMES, the British Society for Middle Eastern Studies, was founded in 1973 to foster interest and scholarship in the Middle Eastern cultural region, spanning from classical antiquity to modern times. With around 500 members globally, BRISMES serves as a key forum for educators and researchers dedicated to Middle East Studies, a diverse discipline that intersects with the humanities and social sciences. The society publishes the British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies five times a year, offering valuable insights and research findings to its members.
In addition to producing acclaimed academic resources, BRISMES organizes the renowned Annual Conference, which showcases the latest scholarship from international experts.
