About British Art Fair
The British Art Fair, established in 1988, is the premier event dedicated to Modern and Contemporary British Art. It originated from The 20th Century British Art Fair, with Gay Hutson as a co-founder. With an Advisory Committee led by Colin Gleadell, the fair held its inaugural edition in 1988 at The Cumberland Hotel.
Over the years, the fair has evolved, and in 2022 it became part of the Ramsay Fairs portfolio. The fair brings together the leading dealers in British art, offering a diverse range of paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures. Representing significant artistic movements from the past century, the fair showcases renowned artists like Lucian Freud, David Hockney, Tracey Emin, and Banksy, as well as emerging talents of the 21st century.
What sets the British Art Fair apart is its commitment to presenting privately sourced and fresh-to-the-market artworks. Dealers meticulously curate their collections, resulting in a boutique event of the highest quality.
