About British Commercial Vehicle Museum #BCVM
The British Commercial Vehicle Museum (BCVM) is a renowned institution that offers a fascinating exploration of the history of commercial vehicles in Britain. Housed in a building that was formerly part of Leyland Motor's South Works, the museum has a rich heritage dating back to the 1930s. Originally serving as the Customer Inspection Department, where lorries and buses were meticulously examined before being handed over to purchasers, the building underwent a transformation in 1983 to become the BCVM.
Thanks to Heritage Lottery Funding and generous sponsors, the museum now boasts modern facilities and state-of-the-art exhibits. Visitors can delve into the extensive archives, explore digital resources, and enjoy engaging exhibitions that showcase the evolution of commercial vehicles in the UK. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply curious about the impact of commercial vehicles on British society, a visit to the BCVM promises an educational and immersive experience
