The British Judo Association (BJA) is the National Governing Body for the Olympic Sport of Judo in Great Britain. Established in 1948 and incorporated as a limited company in 1978, the BJA is recognized by UK Sport, Sport England, Sport Wales, Sport Northern Ireland, Sport Scotland, the British Olympic Association, and the Sport and Recreation Alliance. The BJA aims to represent Great Britain internationally and is a member of several prestigious judo organizations, including The International Judo Federation and The European Judo Union. The association has a vast network of clubs, qualified coaches, and individual members throughout England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, and is dedicated to promoting and supervising judo activities.
The BJA offers a wide range of services, including membership packages, insurance, funding initiatives, and programs. They also organize events, manage rankings, provide grading resources, offer coaching qualifications and courses, as well as opportunities for volunteering.
