The British Orthodox Church is a small autonomous Orthodox jurisdiction, rooted in the Syrian Orthodox Church, with a rich history dating back to 1866. After being affiliated with the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria from 1994-2015, the British Orthodox Church returned to its original status to better serve its mission in the British Isles.
