The BRK Bereitschaften Amberg are the volunteer emergency response units of the Bavarian Red Cross in Amberg and the Amberg-Sulzbach district. Operating within the BRK district association, they support local communities around the clock, throughout the year. Their core work includes civil protection and disaster response, with rapid response groups ready for major incidents and events involving multiple casualties.

They also provide medical first aid coverage at festivals and other public gatherings, where volunteer responders care for visitors and participants. When regular emergency services face peak demand, volunteers can staff an ambulance to provide qualified assistance and support the professional rescue service. The organization welcomes people interested in contributing through disaster response, medical event coverage, or care services, and its youth group offers opportunities for young people to participate.

Donations and other support help sustain this volunteer work. Through its two local units, Bereitschaft Amberg 1 and Bereitschaft Amberg 2, the BRK Bereitschaften Amberg help protect lives and strengthen community preparedness
